Hanifa, founder and designer of HK Collection
The Designer

Hanifa

Hello! I'm Hanifa — the founder and designer of HK. Originally from Uganda and raised in Edmonton, Alberta, fashion was one of my earliest loves. Shows like Say Yes to the Dress sparked a fascination with eveningwear and bridal design, and set me on the path to pursuing it as a career.

The name HK joins my first name, Hanifa, with my surname. In Arabic, Hanifa means “true believer” — one who follows the right path — exactly the kind of person I hope to become.

For now, HK is made-to-order and custom design. In time, I hope to introduce collections spanning bridal, evening and ready-to-wear. Thank you for being part of this journey.
